Girl Power with Blackhurst Budd
The all female team from the Blackpool law firm took part in a five km run to raise money for the charity.
Part of the larger "Race For Life", the 12 women all ran the five km course at Blackpool's Lawson's Show Ground, some in less than 26 minutes, putting them in the top 20 fastest times for the day.
John Taylor, a Partner at Blackhurst Budd, said: "All of the staff thoroughly enjoyed themselves and a couple of the team managed to finish in the top twenty at the end of the race, so we were really proud of that."
The team raised more than £1300 for Cancer Research UK, which will go towards the life saving work they carry out in finding new ways to prevent, diagnose and treat cancer.
Faye Harper, a Solicitor in the Conveyancing Department and one of the runners in the team, said: "Cancer Research's work has saved millions of lives in the UK and across the world and we were really keen to show our support at Blackhurst Budd by running in the Race for Life. We are also planning a number of other fundraising activities over the coming months to help raise more money."
Warren Spencer, Managing Partner of the Firm, said: "The team trained hard for the race and many did it for relatives and friends who had been specifically affected by cancer, so the cause and charity are very close to their hearts. I'm really proud of them all for taking part and for all of the great fundraising work they are doing."
