Fylde RFC have had a highly successful first half of the 2011/12 season on their return to rugby's National One Division.
After 16 matches they are in equal 2nd place in the division and have impressed everyone with their exciting, open, running style of play masterminded by coaches Mark Nelson & former England boss Brian Ashton. The players have responded magnificently and have played some startling rugby which has brought ever bigger crowds to their Woodlands Ground. They have scored 75 tries so far, more than any of the other 15 clubs in the division, at an average of almost five tries and 32 points per game.
The squad was strengthened during the summer with the recruitment of some high quality players and these are making a great contribution to the club's campaign. This has been possible, in part, by the much needed support of loyal sponsors and business partners such as Blackhurst Budd. Such support also makes a significant contribution to the Club's community role in the provision of sporting opportunities to young people and adults in the locality.
