Wills, Trusts & Probate

A Will is an extremely important document; this is why we treat every single one of our Client's Wills with care and precision.

Each Will is tailor-made for the client, considering his or her personal finances, family and commitments and the possible exposure to taxation and in particular inheritance tax.

After a family loss, it is important that the Will is administered with sensitivity and compassion for all family members involved.

This includes:

  • obtaining valuations of all the assets of the estate
  • agreeing the tax liability (if any)
  • applying for the grant of probate.

Then, with the benefit of that grant, gathering of all assets and administering them according to the Will or the law. In some cases a trust may arise under the provisions of a Will. In some cases that trust could last for many years. Such a trust will require the skills of a solicitor and possibly a financial adviser.

Powers of Attorney and Court of Protection orders are normally granted to enable relatives, friends or professional advisers to administer the affairs of elderly or infirm persons who may be unable to take care of their own affairs.
