The Team
The Dispute Resolution department is led by Partners David Aird, Warren Spencer and Neil Jones. The other Solicitors in the team are Paul Atkin, David Edwards and Hannah Newell.
The team enjoys excellent support from Shirley Myatt, Pauline Stewart and Margaret Meek.

All of the team are local to the area and as a result have a deep understanding of the local labour force and business sectors. The team are also approved Law Society employment lawyers.

Managing Partner
Specialisms: Criminal and civil litigation, particularly personal injury and clinical negligence cases.
Warren is an accredited Court Duty Solicitor and in 2008 received the Higher Courts Advocate accreditation enabling him to work as an advocate in the Crown Court. Warren prosecutes for Lancashire, Greater Manchester, Cumbria, Cheshire and Merseyside Fire & Rescue Services.
In 2009 he was shortlisted for the Private Practice -Solicitor of the Year category of the annual Law Society Excellence Awards.
Warren is an Assistant Deputy Coroner for Blackpool and Fylde and has recently been appointed as a part-time Tribunal Judge.
Warren also runs a blog aimed at experts in the field of fire safety, sharing his extensive experience in this field. The site contains detailed information on prosecuting cases concerning fire safety legislation.

David is an experienced litigator specialising in commercial litigation, landlord and tenant employment, insolvency (personal and corporate) and licensing.
David joined the firm (then Blackhurst Parker and Yates) as a trainee Solicitor in 1982. He qualified in 1985 and was made a Partner in 1988. From 1999 to the merger of Blackhursts LLP with John Budd and LSC Solicitors in April 2009 he was Managing Partner.
Away from work David enjoys scuba diving, skiing, walking, the occasional round of golf and supporting his beloved Blackpool Football Club.

Neil is a specialist in civil litigation. He is a member of the Professional Negligence Lawyers Association. He has a particular interest in solicitor negligence claims which he often will undertake on conditional fee agreements ("no-win-no-fee") supported by litigation insurance.
Neil Jones is an old boy of Blackpool Grammar School with a BA law degree from Leeds University. Qualifying in 1973, Neil spent his early years dealing with property and commercial matters, before specialising in civil litigation where he has over 20 years experience. He is married with one daughter.

Specialisms: Civil and Criminal Litigation - mainly Employment and Landlord & Tenant Litigation, Commercial and other general Litigation.
David joined Blackhursts Solicitors as a Trainee Solicitor in 2005 and qualified in 2007. David's original experience included preparation of criminal cases of a serious nature for Crown Court, in addition to appearing as advocate in many Criminal Defence cases before the Blackpool Magistrates' Court. David also dealt with Employment and other general Litigation.
David now deals exclusively with all aspects of Employment Litigation, both for Employer and Employee, and enjoys conducting advocacy before Employment Tribunals.
David is also experienced in acting for Landlords in Litigation against Tenants, both in residential and commerical settings, and has also Prosecuted all cases before the Preston Magistrates' Court on behalf of the Department for Work and Pensions since 2008.

Hannah is a Solicitor in the Dispute Resolution team.
She advises on all aspects of litigation both on a civil and commercial basis. She also deals with an array of personal injury clients and assists the Managing Partner in medical negligence claims.
Hannah joined Blackhurst Budd LLP in May 2010 from a firm in Milton Keynes where she had commenced her training. She finished her training contract and qualified as a solicitor in March 2011.
After growing up on the Fylde Coast Hannah now lives in Lytham. She was educated at Kirkham Grammar School and read English Literature at King's College London before completing her post graduate legal studies at The College of Law, Chester.
