Blackhurst Budd Solicitors have named Headway Blackpool Wyre and Fylde as their charity for 2018. Headway provide information, support and social activities for people with an acquired brain injury, their carer’s family and friends.

Currently running two drop in sessions each month, the charity is able to offer members the opportunity to meet and gain support from other people in the same or similar situations to themselves.

The charity also arranges therapeutic sessions, regular social activities in the community and hosts an annual member day trip. In addition they operate a helpline as a point of contact for both new and existing members offering signposting or just someone to talk to.

Warren Spencer, Managing Director at Blackhurst Budd commented:

“Headway is a fantastic charity, which is perhaps less well known in our local area and we’re keen to raise money for them throughout the year with the various activities we have planned and hopefully also raise awareness of the great work they do in the Fylde Coast.”

Jonathan Young Director of Headway Blackpool Wyre and Fylde said 'We are delighted to have been nominated as Blackhurst Budd Solicitors Charity of the Year for 2018. The funds raised will help ensure more brain injury survivors across the Fylde coast can access support they require. It will also help to raise awareness of acquired brain injury and we look forward to working with the firm over the year ahead, and beyond.'
